Dr Stuart Livingston graduated from Guys & St Thomas’ Medical Schools (University of London) in 1996 and after a range of medical rotations in the UK, gained significant experience in oncology and palliative care. Dr Livingston decided on a change in career path as he wanted to treat people with a more holistic approach and qualified in the UK as a GP in 2008. He relocated with his family to Perth in 2012 and commenced at Joondalup City, and was appointed State Medical Director in 2018. Dr Livingston enjoys all aspects of general practice and has special interests in cancer medicine, elderly care and skin cancer treatment. He has lots of interests outside medicine and has a particular love of cycling.

Dr Paul Collin General Practitioner

Dr Paul Colin graduated from University of Western Australia Medical School in 1980, then completed an internship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital before working at Fremantle Hospital including the Psychiatric unit. Dr Colin was attracted to general practice early in his career before a move to work in Zimbabwe. After returning to Australia, he worked in hospital and general practice including Kalamunda, Katherine and Cunderdin. After working for the Royal Flying Doctor service based at Kalgoorlie, Perth became home again commencing at Joondalup City in 1994. Addiction medicine is a special interest as well as the challenge of holistic family practice in its many facets.

Dr David Keohane General Practitioner

Dr David Keohane was awarded his Medical Degree in 2010 (UCC School of Medicine) and subsequently completed specialist training (MICGP) in General Practice in 2016. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and a Fellow of the Faculty of Sports & Exercise Medicine (RCSI). He has also completed a PhD in Medicine, a Masters (MMedSc) in Sports and Exercise Medicine as well as Diplomas in Rheumatology, Orthopaedic Medicine and Higher-Level Education. Dr Keohane is a GP Trainer (WAGPET/RACGP) and is responsible for GP Registrar training within Joondalup City Medical Group. He is also senior associate editor with the British Medical Journal of Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Dr Keohane was awarded a PhD in 2021, having completed a clinical research Fellowship between 2016 -2020 (APC Microbiome Institute/University College Cork). His published research focuses on health behaviour and lifestyle, metabolic health (heart disease/diabetes/obesity) and the gut microbiome.

Dr Keohane joined our team in March 2020 and enjoys all aspects of general practice.

Dr Mina Kamran Disfani General Practitioner

Dr Mina Kamran Disfani worked as a Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Joondalup Health Campus until July 2017, and Medical Registrar from July 2017. She also worked as a General medical doctor for one year in a rural medical clinic, and two years at a hospital in Iran.

Dr Mina joined us in January 2021, and has special interest in woman’s health and is passionate in all aspects of general practice medicine.

Dr Athot Gurung General Practitioner

Dr Athot Gurung graduated from University of Newcastle in 2015, and is a Fellow of The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. His special interests include women’s health, children’s health, disease prevention, chronic disease management (hypertension, diabetes etc), and minor procedures.

Dr April Armstrong General Practitioner - Women's Health ONLY

Dr April Armstrong is a GP Obstetrician with a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and provides antenatal and postnatal care, women’s health such as menopause management, PCOS, endometriosis, vulva dermatitis, contraception and fertility treatment. She can also investigate irregular periods or bleeding, painful intercourse and heavy periods. She is happy to perform pap smears for women over 25 years of age.

Dr April is a UWA graduate who completed her Diploma in Obstetrics in 2011. She worked in ICU in Adelaide, Women’s and Children’s Health and completed her time in GP training in Clare, South Australia. In 2013, Dr April returned to WA and opened a practice in Kalgoorlie. She moved to Perth in 2022 and will be providing medical speciality women’s health services at various clinics in the northern suburbs.

NB: Dr Armstrong is ONLY providing Women’s Health services. Other GP services should be sought from your regular doctor.

Dr Usha Thiagaraja General Practitioner

Dr Usha Thiagaraja has been in General Practice since 2013. She completed her hospital training and GP Fellowship in New Zealand. She has been practicing in Perth since 2019, and has a special interest in women’s health and children’s health.

Dr Usha sees patients with period irregularities, PCOS, heavy/painful periods, fertility problems, STI management, contraception, menopause, vulvovaginal infections and skin conditions. She can perform cervical smears and contraception insertion/removal. She sees women for pre-conception consultations, antenatal and post natal and perinatal management.

Dr Usha is currently in training with Possums program/NDC pathway for managing the various challenges faced by parents in the newborn period including breast/bottle feeding, unsettled babies, and sleep issues. She will be soon providing dedicated appointments for new caregivers and babies.

She is also a member of the Australian menopause society and manages women with menopausal symptoms and hormonal treatment.

Dr Usha also provides consultations for weight loss and management in a safe and monitored practice. Consults focus around health assessment, nutritional/calorie, lifestyle modifications/support, and appropriate use of weight loss medications.

She is an ardent advocate for women’s self care, physical and mental health. She practices mindfulness and ACT therapy, and brings this into her practice. She has vast experience in assessment and management of anxiety, depression, behavioural issues, and other mental health in children and youth/adolescents.

Dr Usha is trained in performing skin checks and management (medical and surgical) of common skin conditions and cancers, also biopsy/excisions of skin lesions, skin tags, abscess, sebaceous cysts and small lipomas.

Dr Usha is dedicated to education of future doctors in general practice. She is an accredited GP supervisor for registrars with RACGP and teaches medical students from UWA in the clinic.

Having lived in Sri Lanka, India, Bangladesh and New Zealand, she brings with her a rich cultural background and speaks Tamil, Sinhalese and Bengali.

Dr Navin Menon General Practitioner

Dr Navin Menon graduated from Armed Forces Medical College, India. He did his postgraduate studies in General Practice, MRCGP in London and worked as a GP Partner in England. He relocated to Australia about 10 years ago and worked as a GP in Yamba, a seaside town in NSW. Dr Menon obtained his fellowship FRACGP in Australia, and has special interest in men’s health and skin cancer medicine. He is passionate about martial arts and water sports.

Sam Royden is an Accredited Practising Dietitian who graduated in 2017. He loves inspiring clients to enjoy their food choices while still reaching their nutrition goals. He has extensive knowledge in managing common conditions such as weight loss management, diabetes, high cholesterol, cardiovascular disease, and gut health/disorders. Sam strives to match his recommendations to meet a clients desired lifestyle. Outside of nutrition, Sam loves spending time with friends, cooking and any outdoor activities.
